Thank you to everyone who has been in touch to make sure we saw the Round 3 FOAs were forecasted.

As most of you know, they went up on June 9, 2014.

Like you, this is a busy time for us as we are working with many of you on the EHS-Child Care Partnership grants.  Now we have analyzed and organized the forecast list for you in the way that we would want to see it: by state.

As was true in rounds 1 and 2, we find the HHS grants forecast page and display options neither intuitive nor helpful. If you want to see the list yourself, go to http://www.acf.hhs.gov/hhsgrantsforecast ; click on AGENCY: ACF; put the Head Start CFDA number in the search box (93.600), make sure you are showing 100 records (default is usually 25 and that makes it cumbersome); click on the header Last Updated so that 6/9/14 (at least, there may be more recent forecasts when you do this); and look at those that do not have a date in the Posted to Grants.gov column. Note – if you click through to see forecast details, you’ll have to resort when you click on the back button to try to get back to the list.

Broadly, the FOAs are forecasted to come out on 8/1/2014 and are supposed to be due on 10/1/14.  You will notice that that is 62 days from start to finish.  A third less time than applicants had in Rounds 1 and 2.  That seems like a very tight turnaround time to us.  Advice? Get busy now.

Also interesting, the anticipated award date is June 1, 2015 and program startup is July 1, 2015. An even longer wait time than Rounds 1 or 2 and anyone in either round will tell you those felt quite long already.

We’ve done a bit more analysis on the lists and will post that separately.
