We are pleased to see that Chicago’s Head Start delegate and partner agencies are going to gather tomorrow at the Marriott (S. Ashland and Harrison) to hear from the very well-respected and knowledgable Colleen Mendel and Marce Verzaro-O’Brien.
This seems to be a mandatory training.
The training – 9:30-3:30 – is supposed to give participants an understanding of the recompetition rule and what it means for Chicago’s Delegate/Partner Agencies.
The notice states that the City of Chicago is going to make significant changes in policy and procedure to protect funding and services to children and families in Chicago’s Head Start programs.
We expect this will be an informative meeting. We also expect and hope that other cities and regions will meet to share information, analysis and strategies to respond to CFR 1307 – all in the best interests of children and families.
