Over the last few days, 180 DRS Round 8 grant competitions went live on grants.gov. The deadline for DRS grant proposals is November 12, 2019 for most of the competitions. For Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) that posted on Monday, September 16, the deadline is November 15, 2019.

DRS grant competitions span the country, with all Head Start regions represented. This round of DRS also includes a variety of grant types. There are two American Indian/Alaska Native Head Start grant competitions, five Migrant and Seasonal Head Start grant competitions, and 15 Early Head Start Expansion and Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) grant competitions. The rest of the DRS grant competitions are for Head Start and/or Early Head Start grants.

Check out our recent blog post, DRS FOAs Have Started to Post to Grants.gov, to learn about some of the differences between this round of DRS and prior rounds. Remember to mark your calendars. The Office of Head Start (OHS) is hosting two pre-application webinars regarding the 2019 FOAs. Webinars will take place on September 24 and 25. Registration opened on September 16. Check out the OHS Funding Opportunities website for more information.

The timeline for DRS proposal development moves very quickly. If your program needs resources and assistance to effectively leverage the time between now and your November deadline, please be in touch. Foundations for Families offers a toolkit of materials to help programs develop a competitive DRS proposal.
