On Thursday, February 27, the Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO) for Head Start/Early Head Start grant recipients in multiple communities in Colorado, Delaware, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas was posted to grants.gov. These grants were forecasted to post on January 28, 2025 but were delayed after the forecast was removed from grants.gov. Now that the NOFO has officially posted, it appears the grant competitions will move forward.
In Head Start/Early Head Start Recipients – Multiple Communities in CO, DE, LA, NC, OK, OR, TN, TX, there are nine open competitions. The service areas, available funding, and expected number of awards – as stated in the NOFO – are listed below.
COLORADO

Applications for these competitions are due on April 29, 2025, a 9-week turnaround. Remember that grants.gov goes down for scheduled maintenance every month, and you will not be able to access grants.gov during an outage. There are two scheduled outages during the application timeline – March 15-17, 2025 and April 19-21, 2025.
We recommend that, as soon as possible, you log into Grants.gov to ensure that your credentials are up to date. If applying for the first time, you will also need to Register. If you run into any issues logging into Grants.gov or registering, you should contact the Grants.gov Support Center. Getting yourself application set up will allow you to focus on proposal development and begin data entry, when ready.
