Two Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO) for DRS grant competitions were forecasted on post to grants.gov this past Monday, October 21. The NOFOs did not post as forecasted. Today, the grant forecasts were updated with a new timeline.

The fall 2024 DRS grant competitions are expected to open on October 28, 2024 and the estimated due date for applications is now January 6, 2025. Links to the grant forecasts are provided below.

Head Start/Early Head Start Recipient – Multiple Communities in AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MT, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, PR, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WI

Early Head Start Expansion and Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership Grants – Multiple Communities in GA, LA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, VA, WI

While the timeline is a bit longer than originally forecasted, it now falls around the winter holidays. A similar scenario occurred a few years ago, and you can check out our strategies for managing DRS through the holidays.

Additionally, note that each month grants.gov goes down for scheduled maintenance. The system will be down November 16-18. 2024 as well as December 21-23. 2024. Plan accordingly so that your data entry and submission are not scheduled during this time when grants.gov will be inaccessible.

Keep your eye out for the NOFOs on Monday, and we’ll post any updates here as well.
