The Office of Head Start announced today that 15 organizations in five communities have entered negotiations for funding in the Birth-to-Five pilot to provide Head Start and Early Head Start services.

The preliminary winners and proposed funding levels in each community are:

Baltimore – $29 million

Detroit – $48 million

Jersey City – $8 million

·         Bergen County Community Action Partnership, Inc.

Sunflower County – $4 million

·         Save the Children, Inc.

Washington, D.C. – $17 million

You’ll recall that this pilot program was announced last year and encouraged agencies to propose a comprehensive program serving pregnant women, infants, toddlers and preschoolers in their communities – a birth to five program.

Thank you
