The National Center on Program Management and Fiscal Operations (PMFO) recently announced an exciting opportunity for new Head Start Directors (within the last 3 years) to learn first-hand from experienced Head Start Director mentors. The PMFO-UCLA Head Start New Director Mentor Initiative pairs new Directors with a seasoned Director who, through the mentor/mentee relationship, can assist the new Director to expand knowledge and engage deeply in understanding and applying Head Start practices. With many exciting opportunities and changes within the Head Start world, this could be a welcome support for new Head Start Directors who may benefit from the support of a network of colleagues.
The PMFO-UCLA Head Start New Director Mentor Initiative describes the commitment of participants as:
- Attendance at 3-day leadership and management institute at UCLA (October 12-14, 2016)
- Participation in online training
- Engagement in 1 year relationship with experienced mentor Head Start Director
Applications for the initiative are due July 8, 2016 and are available for download on the initiative website. Good luck to those applying!
