Last week’s Winter Leadership Institute was an amazing opportunity for Head Start leaders to come together to reflect on successes and plan innovative paths forward. Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) grantees in particular are in a unique position to be models of change and we’re glad to be learning so much about your work. An EHS-CCP “Meet Up” was hosted at the Institute on the evening of February 3rd. Were you able to attend and connect with other grantees? There are many ways we can learn from one another’s experiences, and having face-to-face time with people experiencing similar successes and challenges can be enlightening and motivating.
Many themes from the conference resonated with us. Certainly there was central theme of change, and there was also a strong focus on communication. The two seem to go hand-in-hand. Communication with staff, families, and the community are important aspects of successful change. We encourage you to think about how the information you learned at the conference can support your continued success as an EHS-CCP grantee implementing new partnerships. If our paths didn’t cross at the Winter Leadership Institute we hope to connect with you in other ways soon!
Foundations for Families offers EHS-CCP grantees targeted technical assistance and strength-based coaching of key start-up staff. We have helped multiple organizations design, plan for, and draft successful proposals for the first round of EHS-CCP and plan to offer the same expertise for any new opportunities.
