We’re about two weeks in from the release of the Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) for Designation Renewal System (DRS) Round 7 – almost a quarter of the way through the application development timeline. Last week, a couple of additional DRS Round 7 FOAs posted to grants.gov, and they are for service areas in Arkansas and Louisiana. While almost all DRS Round 7 applications are due November 19, these late additions have applications due on November 26th.
If you’ve been watching grants.gov closely you might have also noted a new Head Start/Early Head Start forecast. It is for the City of Detroit, Michigan. The forecast looks like this is a DRS competition, however the timeline doesn’t align with DRS Round 7. It makes us wonder if it could be DRS Round 8. There have been times in the past when DRS competitions have been posted in smaller batches or even one at a time. It hasn’t been very common, but has happened. If we start to see more FOAs forecasted then it could indicate we’re looking at DRS Round 8. It’s hard to say at this point. We’ll let you know if we see any other new forecasts on grants.gov!
